My life has always been safe. I like it that way. I grew up in a fake society where plastic hearts rule. If our hearts are made of plastic, they can never be broken. My parents have expectations and I do everything I can to meet them, even if it means giving up on my own dreams.
Now, all I want is to be free to make my own choices.
Dane Wright is everything I have been warned to stay away from. We met one night while I was with my perfect, parent-approved boyfriend and I haven’t stopped thinking about him. I don’t want to like him. I am doing everything I can to ignore his pull, but my heart seems to want what it cannot have, what it has never had.
Can he measure up? He may think I am too good for him, but maybe he is too good for me.
Life is a series of choices and I have never been able to make my own. Until one day, when my heart decides to make a choice for me.
My Thoughts ❤
WOW~! That’s all I can say! I decided to read this book on Sunday to try and hold me over until Reckless appeared on my Kindle this morning! All I can say is that I was NOT disappointed! In fact, I read it in less than 24 hours! I couldn’t put it down!
This story just pulled at my heart from the beginning. I can’t imagine living in Alex’s world… a world of fake ass bitches and families. I mean I know we all know people like them, but to be completely surrounded by them and not have a single person you could talk to about what your hearts desires were for your life… that’s CRAZY!
This book was phenomenal! I always love to see a character grow and become who they truly are despite what environmental factors might be thrown at them. When I look at Alex’s life it looks perfect, but maybe just “picture” perfect. She has it all when it comes to fine things and an endless bank account. Even with that, she wants to know the kind of love that you know will break your heart into a million pieces!
Compared to Alex, Dane for the better choice of words… he grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. Even with that being said, there are so many desirable characteristics of his life to Alex. The fact that he is easy on the eyes doesn’t help matters either! Dane is a strong person both physically and mentally. He has had to grow up way to fast. He knows what it is like to lose precious cargo in your life. He has overcome obstacles, and can dance… boy can he dance! 😉
The relationship between Alex and Dance brings Alex to life. She now understands what there is to lose in life. She is terrified of letting her parents down, not living to their standards, and actually doing something for herself. Dane changes all of this!
With that being said, Alex has to decide love or plastics? What will she choose? This book is a 5 star! I’m SO glad I decided to read it Sunday! I had it on my to-read list, but it got moved up quick! You will not be disappointed! In fact, I’m going to try and wait patiently for Glass Hearts that will be released Summer 2013! I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the book. “When you let your heart carry you through life, you’re never alone.”~Plastic Hearts
