Inhale, Exhale… an honest review

inhaleexhale

Book Description (via Goodreads)

Jillian had a plan: celebrate the end of her first year of college with an amazing summer full of beaches, barbeques, and bonfires. When her mom insists she needs a summer job, and her boyfriend spends more time with his band than with her, Jillian’s plans go down the drain.

Grant had a plan: finish his Masters, get a great job at Google, and get the hell out of Georgia. He might be giving up some of the fun of his youth, but he knows his all work and no play method would be worth it when his dreams came true.

But things never go according to plan.

When temptation brings them together and tragedy tears them apart, Jillian and Grant will be forced to choose: fight for their dreams, or fight for each other.

My Thoughts ❤

Inhale, Exhale, Inhale, Exhale…. that is exactly what I did throughout this entire book!  It is full of ups, down, raw emotions, decisions that need to be made, drama at every corner, and a whole lotta love!

I am so happy to be able to give my honest review about the soon to be released novel!  I sat down to start reading it last night… yeah, I know, I promised a review for today, but it was Mother’s Day weekend!  I honestly expected myself to be reading well past midnight, but instead… I was finished by 11:23pm!  I had time to spare!  I say this only because I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!  From chapter 1 you are pulled in… what is it that Jillian really likes about Christian?  (POS in my personal opinion)  A boy from your dreams… now this could get interesting!

Throughout this book, there is so many events that occur, each and everyone of them cause Jillian to have to make hard choices.  I have to give her credit, she’s a girl that might make a mistake once.. but one time only! I ❤ that about her!

So if you are looking for a book that will keep you on your toes, outta breath for more than one reason, and a love story that will have you breathless… this is it!  1-click it right now!!!

Here it is on Amazon

Kelvin & Blaze: Frostbite by Lynn Rush

LynnRush_Frostbite_Version2FinalFront

Title: Frostbite (Touch of Frost #1)
Author: Lynn Rush
Date of Release: September 17th, 2013
Publisher: Lynn Rush, LLC

Book Blurb:
Amanda gives a whole new meaning to cool…
Amanda Smith is sick of getting chased from town-to-town. So when she lands in tiny Trifle, Arizona, she hopes it’s her last move for a long time. Despite hating the smallness of the town, she settles in and finds a best friend, and even a boyfriend. Normality at its finest. But for a girl who can shoot snow from her hands and lift a two-ton truck over her head like a bag of feathers—normal is not an option. The scientists who murdered her mother come barreling into Amanda’s quiet life. She must decide if she’ll run again or stay and fight. The price of either choice might be her life or the lives of those she’s come to love.

My Thoughts <3:

I have been extremely lucky to get to read this ARC of Frostbite. I absolutely love a hot steamy romance, but if I’m not reading a good romance I want something on the sci-fi, paranormal, outta-this-world type story, with a touch of romance. Frostbite is exactly that!

Amanda and her brother,Scott, are on their own. Their parents passed away due to a “tragic accident.” She is so close to having a normal life unlike the past 4 years. She is trying to stay out of trouble, graduate, and has the best friend she could ever have, Georgia. Then she lands in detention and there is Zach…. hummm, now where will this go?

This book is full of self discovery, understanding ones self, finding family, super powers, cold, heat, speed, crazy strength, and taking down the Coats. And finding the chance at true love along the way!

From Chapter 1, I was hooked! I had to know more about Amanda and what was her deal, who were the Coats, what really happened to her parents, could she have a relationship, and would they have to run again.

This book is full of action, adventure, superpowers, relationships, and everything finally coming together. It is well written, and I ❤ the cover! It is SOOOOO Amanda! I also love how this story is more than just a story about super powers or a romance. It’s like a real life story with several major twists! With each character, you know there is relevance for their intertwining and meeting.

I ❤ how each of the characters all fall into their place… my favorite is Amanda & Georgia. They are the perfect fire & ice! Frostbite has a ton of action. You are always on your toes and wondering what is in store next for Amanda, Scott, and now everyone else they trust!

The story end exactly where it should, but leaves you wanting to know more. I look forward to seeing where the next journey takes Amanda, Georgia, Scott, Zach, & Jasmine!

Tony vs. Christian: A Consequences Review & Giveaway

Consequences750

Book Description <3:

Publication Date: August 3, 2011

Besieged by memories of a brutal abduction, Claire Nichols wakes in an unfamiliar bedroom, within a luxurious mansion. Her recollections have one common denominator, the man she just met, Anthony Rawlings. Unbeknownst to Claire, for a very long time, she has been within Anthony’s sights. Many of the pivotal events in her life occurred, due to his sinister manipulation. Every action has a consequence, and his actions result in their chance meeting. More than a psychological thriller, Consequences is a vivid story of one woman’s struggle to survive incomprehensible circumstances. Every aspect of her being suddenly depends upon the tall, wealthy, dark haired, dark eyed businessman. Anthony Rawlings is known to the world as prosperous, benevolent, and kind. Claire quickly learns that he can also be a menacing controlling captor. With few options but concession, Claire attempts to earn her freedom, while enduring a hellish existence that truly appears perfect. Persevering tests and trials, she struggles to retain her pure Midwest values and beliefs. Encouraged by memories of a loving upbringing, she gains strength in the simplest of joys: solitude in nature and good in the face of evil. His goal in sight, Anthony’s calculated agenda encounters an unforeseen detour. He becomes captivated by Claire’s beauty, resilience, and determination. The interaction of these two compelling characters instigates strong emotions: fear, anger, love, and lust. Claire and Anthony’s tumultuous journey flows into uncharted waters of intrigue and passion. Utilizing vivid detail, this 167,000-word novel unfolds like a movie, before the eyes of its readers. From the opening criminal abduction, through twists and turns, to the unlikely romantic thrills, the suspense climaxes as Anthony’s motivation becomes evident. Anthony and Claire must decide if they will stay true to one another, or allow preceding actions to result in justifiable Consequences.

My Thoughts <3:

Ok, I’m going to start by saying that this book is  GREAT…. but…. you HAVE to be able to get past Anthony Rawlings and his actions.  If you can’t you might as well move on to the next one!

I am SO honored to do this review.  I have been trying  to read this book for over 2 months, but due to my hectic schedule of working full-time, being a Mommy, and prior blogging commitments I had to wait until now.  I am so glad that I did!

When the book starts off you think ok is she a vampire or something… it’s talking about unconscious and ice.   (Or at least I did!)  Then you realize oh hell no; she’s being kidnapped and abused!

Here’s a little bit about Claire and Anthony… Claire is a hard-working meteorologist turned Bartender due to cutbacks.  There is a spark in her eye, and I just love how she portrays herself.  Anthony is a hardworking business man. You know, tall, dark, and handsome?  But there is so much more to him… he has an EXTREMELY dark side.

My title for today is “Tony vs. Christian,”  there is a reason for that!  They have so many similarities.  (Oh, and by Christian I mean Mr. Grey… just incase you are clueless 😉 ) But there is one MAJOR difference…. Anna knew what she was signing up for… Claire didn’t.

I will say that when I first began to read this book, I was unsure if I could read it due to the abuse that Claire faces.  However, I continued.  There are SO many things I’d love to say but I don’t want to spoil it!

Claire and Tony’s relationship is like the seasons of the year.  They need time to grow and learn about each other.  I want to let you know that I went through each of those seasons with them.  They also need to understand that there are consequences for each others actions.

Let me let you in on my EXACT feelings about Tony….

-Season 1: That Mother Fuckin Asshole! Bless Claire’s heart!

-Season 2: Ok, MAYBE he’s not so bad possibly a real life “Beauty and the Beast”

-Season 3: Maybe that Ice cold heart is melting…. MAYBE…

-Season 4: OMG! That ASSHOLE!  PLEASE TELL ME THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!

Speaking of the Truth!  That is book 2 after the phenomenal Consequences!  Get it now, but be prepared to understand how severe consequences really can be!

An Interview with the AMAZING Aleatha Romig

Consequences750

Today, We have the great honor to meet and talk with the AMAZING Aleatha Romig.  I’ve had the great privilege to read and review Consequences which will post tomorrow.

What inspired you to write Consequences?

I’d always wanted to write a book.  It was a bucket list type thing.  In 2008 my husband lost his job, it was in construction materials and the economy tanked! He began working another job, third shift.  Our two oldest children were off in college.  Our youngest was going to bed about 8:30.  That left a lot of alone time.

I had this idea of a woman in a room… I decided to sit down and see where the story would take me.  I didn’t write Consequences to publish.  I wrote Consequences as therapy or escape from my life.  I could totally manipulate and control the lives of these characters.  It was more than I could do for myself.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I think I do.  I think I have a certain flow and sentence structure.  Beyond that, I need to know where I’m going.  For all of my books, I’ve written the beginning and the end.  Then I let the middle fill itself in.  I’ve tried to write without knowing the end, it doesn’t work.  The fun part is letting the characters and story dictate the middle!

What books have most influenced your life most?

There are many books I’ve loved.  Gone with the Wind is my all-time favorite.  I also enjoy thrillers; John Grisham brought me back to reading when my children were young.  I like the older Patterson’s and enjoy Greg Isles.  I also have started to find more erotic romances, and admit to liking those too.  These have all been entertainment, a means of escape!  Your question is “influence” the only book I can say has “influenced” me is the Bible – best seller of all time!

What author has influenced you the most?

I belong to the Indiana Romance Writers Association.  In our local chapter there are many talented writers, and I’ve learned and been influenced by these woman in many ways.  Most of them have much more experience than I.  Their willingness to share and encourage has been invaluable.

In a long distance, no direct influence kind of way, I will say E.L. James.  Not because I found Fifty Shades amazing… it was good.  But, she opened the door to “different books” hitting the mainstream.  Consequences Series isn’t erotic; however, it is dark.  I breach subjects that previously were taboo.  I’m not sure that my series would have received the acceptance it has, pre Fifty Shades.

What book are you reading now?

When I’m really into my writing, I don’t read.  However, I’ve been asked to read an ARC of A Taste of You by Sorcha Grace.  So far… fun and HOT!

What current project are you working on?

I’m writing Convicted, the third and final of my Consequences Series.  It isn’t done yet, but I do know how it ends.

What was the hardest part of writing Consequences?

The hardest part was deciding how much detail to put in my manuscript. My original draft had more detail.  It was so disturbing to my mother and sister-in-law that they couldn’t read the story.  So, I decided to employ more of the “fade to black” technique.  Honestly, I still have people who think my reading is too disturbing and others who want more detail.  I’ve come to the conclusion; you can’t please everyone – so please yourself.

How did you come up with the storyline for Consequences?

I had the “vision” or “thought” of the opening scene.  I didn’t know any more, but wanted to learn more.  That’s how it started…

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Two bits of advice:  #1 Write for your own enjoyment.  If you don’t like what you write, neither will anyone else.  If your words make you smile or cry, it will do the same for others.  And in the same vein, don’t let your style be dictated by the rules and limitations of others.  I was told on multiple occasions, “You can’t do that.” What I hear excessively from readers is, “I love that your books are different.”  Had I listened to what I was told, on how I had to fit into a mold, they wouldn’t be different.

#2 IF you plan to write a series, know that when you start.  Building from a single book is much more difficult!  (I plan to follow that advice in the future)

What message or advice do you want to give your readers?

Step outside the box.  My series is not defined by genre.  I thought I was writing a psychological thriller/ romantic element.  My agent said I wrote:  Contemporary Dark Romance/ thriller.  My point is: branch out… keep an open mind… enjoy… and remember, it is still fiction! As much as many of us would like to believe there is a real Anthony Rawlings, there isn’t.  In fiction, we can explore situations we’d never attempt in reality… just enjoy!

What were the challenges in bringing Consequences to life?

I was and am so inexperienced.  Consequences was published in August of 2011 by a self-publishing publisher.  In October 2012 I rereleased Consequences completely Indie.  Just last week I entered an agreement with a copy editor.  I’d had Consequences and Truth line-edited… and as many have pointed out, there are still mistakes.  Being self-published I’m not accustomed to having someone tell me “consider deleting” or “consider re-wording” or anything else…  I’m excited and scared.

The truth is, I believe I have wonderful stories and want to do anything and everything to bring the best version to the world.  To date Consequences has sold over 35,000 copies! That amazes me!

What can readers look forward to in the future?

Once the Consequences Series is complete, I have ideas for other stories.  I guess we’ll need to see what the future brings!  All I can say is, I’ve already experienced more through my writing than I EVER imagined.  Not only have I received more recognition than I ever dreamed, I’ve met wonderful people!  It’s true, sometimes Life is stranger than fiction!

Thank you for having me on your blog!  I’ve enjoyed!  Now go read!!!!

You are so welcome!  Tomorrow my own review of Consequences will be posted!  See you all back here tomorrow!!!!  Until then, check out the book description and Amazon link! 🙂 Happy Reading!

haven-amazon

Book Description:

“If you’re going to make me cry, at least be there to wipe away the tears…”

Most were asleep in their beds the night Lily Grace’s entire world was ripped apart, leaving only darkness and torment in its place. The only remaining person she depended on abandoned her without a second thought…or so that’s what Lily has believed for the past four years.

Dean Haven has returned for one reason—to win Lily’s love again. He’s already broken her heart because of the demons that haunt him. Can his desire for Lily keep him from succumbing to those demons again?

Dean has no idea what awaits him when he tries to fight his way back into Lily’s life. Everything he remembers has changed, including Lily.

Is love enough when you’re forced to weather the storms life has blown your way?

Due to content and subject matter, suggested for readers 16 years of age and older.

My Thoughts <3:

Oh My! I have had the amazing opportunity to ARC Haven from the Storm. I love when authors contact me about checking out their new books! This was by far one of the most heart wrenching books I have read lately!

The best way for me to describe this book is that if you LOVED Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, you will LOVE this book as well! Another aspect of this book that I loved is that it referenced one of my all time fav books, The Sea of Tranquility.

I absolutely love when a new book is published, and it is current. I love how Sarah took real life events and created an awesome story. To me this story could be true. I could see several students that I have taught with the issues that Dean and Lilly both face. There is a life lesson to learn within this book.

Lilly is one of the strongest women I’ve read about.  She has been dealt a bad hand, has pushed everyone away, and feels like everything is her fault.

Dean is a runner.  When the going gets tough, so does Dean.  In fact, his running has cause Lilly SO much heartache.

Their bond is super strong.  There are questions of whether Lilly will allow Dean back into her life, will she be able to overcome her past, fears, and events that continue to hold her back?

I will say that one character that I feel needs his own personal shout out is Red.  He’s a hawk that I believe plays one of the most important role in this entire novel!  I hope that everyone has a “Red” in their life.  Someone that is always there, looking out, and a constant.

There is more to this book than just a love story.  It’s about life, natural disasters, heartache, fear, hope, love, loss, abuse, mourning, acceptance, learning to trust again, and believing in yourself/ future!

This book took me less than 48hours to read… along with my Mommy duties. I couldn’t put it down! My only complaint is I wanted to see more in the future. I wish that Book #2 of this series continued the lives of Dean, Lilly, Derek, and Adley… but I’m sure it will move on to another storm in other peoples lives.

Haven from the Storm will be released on March 30th, 2013! I highly recommend that you 1-click this at your first opportunity!

Great Exploitations by Nicole Williams… A Review

Summary via Amazon
Seduction. Infidelity. Blackmail. Scandal. It can all be bought for the right price and for Sienna Stevens, business is good.

Because she’s in the business of Great Exploitations.

She’s an Eve, a member of a secret society of women contracted by the wives of wealthy, powerful men for one reason and one reason only: to seduce their husbands. To ensure their pre-nuptial agreement will be null and void thanks to a little loophole known as the Infidelity Clause. To ensure that those wives don’t find themselves on the other side of a divorce without a penny to their name.

When it comes to the Eves, Sienna’s one of the best because she follows the number one rule of the Eves to the letter: don’t let it get personal.

When the job file of her wealthiest client yet falls into her lap, Sienna realizes that this case could be the one that’s impossible to detach herself from. The payout would lead to her independence, but will the cost be too high in the end?

***This is a short story (approx. 24,000 words), that will be followed up by future installments***

My Thoughts ❤

Nicole William never ceases to amaze me with her writing! From the very beginning you are hooked! You learn all about the Eves: who they are, where they came from, how it works, and in particular, you learn this through the eyes of Sienna. She is one that separates herself from the job. She is able to remove all emotion.

This is a short story with more to come! I read it in no time! It gives all the info you need to know. It also leaves you thinking about one question in particular… do the Eves really exist? Who knows! I will say that when the story ends you are left with a cliffhanger…. because I want to know all about the TEN and how Sienna is going to handle this job!

I was very excited when a “gift” showed up in my inbox from Nicole Williams, and I was allowed to ARC this the day it went live! If you are looking for a intriguing read that isn’t like your typical romance novel… This is it! I give it 5 stars hands down! I’m counting down till the next story is released! It was a perfect read during my down time with all the reviews I have coming up! Go go on and 1-click Great Exploitations by Nicole Williams now!

Suicide Note Stole My Heart!

suicide note

**Disclaimer: This book contains no acts of suicide and it does have a ‘Happily Ever After’**

A soldier returning for mid-tour leave decides to stay with a cousin in Maine, after his fiancé leaves him for someone else while he is away at war. His cousin is going through his own devastation and is struggling to pick up the pieces and move on with his family. As they try to help each other through the pain, Shane’s path crosses Jenn’s and he soon learns that everything happens for a reason.

Release date: March 15, 2013 (not available for preorder)

**ARC copy given for a review by the one and only Teresa Mummert**

I loved this book! It left me with such happiness and the biggest smile on my face. My ONLY complaint is that I didn’t want it to end! I was like please keep going! I want to see the rest of their fairytale! In this book there is so much heart break and mistrust, and two of the sweetest characters have to deal with pain and heartbreak. (It just broke my heart!)I absolutely loved how the book was told from both sides. You know exactly what Jenn and Shane are thinking, but yet they don’t know each others thoughts.

My heart just reached out for Jenn from the get go! To have to deal with her family, especially her sister, I just don’t know how she did it! Personally, I would have wanted to crawl in a hole and die! Instead she took her negative and made it positive by focusing on her work…. even though that is all she had in life.

Shane is so kind-hearted and in love with Chelsea. When he is overseas, he gets his heart broken. He has to make a decision of on his R&R to go to NC or make a detour to Maine to visit the only family he has…. let’s just say he makes the best decision ever!

Jake and May are also extremely important characters in this book. Jake is Shane’s cousin and Jenn’s boss. May is his wife, and is one of the most fun loving individuals ever! I hope everyone has a May in their life! If you don’t, you’re missing out! Jake and May have their own struggles that really tie all the events together. I really feel that these two helped make the book because without them there are a TON of missing pieces!

This book touched my heart and soul. I think part of it is due to my cousin being deployed right now, and we are counting down until he gets home (58 Days!!!) There are other events that play into the relationships between Jenn and Shane. Both Jenn and Shane are dealt a pretty bad hand in life when it comes to relationships, but they create their own fairytale. In fact, I know that Shane STOLE my heart! He just wouldn’t give up on Jenn. He had an internal desire to get to know her. I loved how he wanted to make her happy, didn’t want to hurt her, valued their friendship, and let go of that tough guy image. I love the fact that he was a constant and wanted to remain constant.

I had a really hard time writing this review because I didn’t want to give any spoilers! When I think about the emotions that are involved in the book, I can’t help but want to tell you every little detail. In fact, here are just a few of how I felt while reading in no particular order: workaholic, that bitch!, hurt, anger, need, heartbroken, unsure, trusting, loving, faithful, time to put your big girl panties on, Eeeeeekkkkkk, and real life.

Teresa Mummert does an out of this world job at making Jenn and Shane’s fairytale come true! This story is REAL. There is no other way to put it. You will not be disappointed! Get your copy of Suicide Note on March 15th. Let me know if you felt like you heart was going to burst open like mine at the end because FAIRYTALES DO COME TRUE!
